9 Kasım 2008'de evi basilarak tutuklanan ve o gunden beri Tebriz Hapishanesi'nde mahpus olan insan ve kadin haklari aktivisti, gazeteci ve hukukcu Sehnaz Gulami tutukluluk halinin hukuki olmamasina itiraz gayesiyle aclik grevine girdi. Gulami, ayrica Tebriz Cezaevinde fiziki ve manevi baskiya maruz kaldigini, uyusturucu kullananlar ve katillerle ayni kogusa konuldugunu acikladi.

Iran'da yayinlanan "Azerwomen" adli blogun sahibi olan ve burdaki yazılarinda Azerbaycan meselesi ile kadin haklarindan bahseden Gulami, 9 Kasım'da Guney Azerbaycan Milli Hareketi'nin liderlerinden Gulamriza Emani'nin kardesleri Sefer ve Kerim'in Iran gizli servis elemanlariyla birlikte bulundugu bir otomobile yapilan suikast sonucu oldurulduklerini aciklamasi uzerine tutuklanmisti.

Muhalif durusu sebebiyle, "devlete karşı propaganda yapmak", "ulke liderlerini ve Cumhurbaskani Mahmud Ahmedinecat'i tahkir etmek" ve "bir dizi protesto gosterilerine katilmak"la itham edilerek 1989-1993 seneleri arasinda da Tebriz Hapishanesi'nde mahpus yatan Gulami, son olarak da gecen sene, 2006 senesinde bir Iran gazetesinde Azerbaycanlilara hakaret eden karikature karsi protestolarin sene-i devriyesindeki gosterilere katildigi icin bir ay hapsedilmisti.

Ayrica gectigimiz 1 Mayis'ta "Isci Bayrami Kutlamalari"na katildiklari icin tutuklanan 1 Mayiszede cesuryurek kadin sendikacilar Sousan Razani ve Shiva Kheyr Abadi tutuklandi. Her ikisi de 4 er ay hapis ve 15'er kirbac cezasina carptirildi. Sousan Razani'nin cezasi, daha sonra 9 ay hapis ve 70 kirbaca arttirildi.

Razani ve Kheyr Abadi'nin tutuklanmalarini protesto ettigi icin gozaltina alinan 18 yasindaki Fereshteh Nejati, 14 Agustos 2008'de oz babasi tarafindan bogazi kesilerek oldurulmustur. Nejati'nin katli akabinde Marivan'da, cinsiyeten kadin ve erkek 2000 civari insani sokaga dokulmus; tore ve namus cinayetlerinin kanunlarda degisiklikler yapilarak nihayete erdirilmesini ve Nejati icin saygin bir cenaze toreni talep etmislerdi. Ama bu insani tepki devletlu aygitlarin aktorlerince hosgorulmemis ve protestocular siddet kullanilarak dagitip, bir kaci da gozaltina alinmistı.

Bu arada insan haklari mudafaa-i perveri sendika aktivisti 33 yasindaki Kurt ogretmen Farzad Kamangar' Agustos 2006'dan beri tutuklu ve hakkinda idam hukmu cikti. Karac'daki Racai-i Sahr Hapisanesi'ndeki hucresinde kotu kosullar ve iskence sebebiyle saglik durumu gittikce kotuye giden Kamangar'in "Tek istedigim isyankar, kipir kipir kalbimin, benden daha isyankarca bir cocuğun gogsunde atmaya devam etmesidir." cumlesiyle dile getirdigi, idami akabinde kalbinin organ nakli bekleyen bir cocuga nakledilmesi talebi de reddedilmistir.

Mevcut Iran hukumetini, kadin, isci, topyekun insan haklari hususundaki ihlalleri sebebiyle kiniyor ve bir an once bu menfi tavrindan vaz gecmeye davet ediyoruz. Ayrica aclik grevindeki Gulamriza Emani'nin hukuksuz tutukluluk haline son verilmesini, Farzad Kamangar'in idam hukmunun kaldirilmasini ve Sousan Razani ve Shiva Kheyr Abadi'den ve Fereshteh Nejati'nin hatirasindan ozur dilenmesini talep ediyorum.


WE WANT THE IRANIAN GOVERNMENT TO END AT ONCE THE UNLAWFUL IMPRİSONMENT OF FEMALE JOURNALIST SEHNAZ GULAMİ WHO'S ON HUNGER STRIKE!

Human and women rights activist, journalist and legist Sehnaz Gulami, who was arrested after the her house was raided on November 9th, 2008 and has been imprisoned in the Tabriz Prison as of that day, went on hunger strike in order to protest her unlawful arrest. Gulami has further announced that she was held in moral duress in the Tabriz Prison, being put in the same ward as drug addicts and murderers. Gulami, who is the blogger of "Azerwomen", which is issued in Iran and tells about the Azerbaijan problem and women's rights, was arrested when she announced that Sefer and Kerim, the brothers of Gulamriza Emani, one of the leaders of the South Azerbaijan National Movement, were killed in an assassination conspired in the car where the brothers were with Iranian secret service men. Because of her stance as an adversary, Gulami was accused of "making propaganda against the state", "defaming the leaders of the country and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad " and "participating in a series of protest demonstrations".

Gulami who had served time in 1989-1993 again in the Tabriz Prison was last imprisoned last year for a month for participating in the demonstrations at the anniversary of the protests against the cartoon insulting Azerbaijan people. May 1st victims, braveheart women unionists who have participated on last year's "Worker's Day Celebrations", Sousan Razani and Shiva Kheyr Abadi, have been arrested. Both were sentenced to 4 months of prison term and 15 each whipping penalty. Sousan Razani's penalty was later increased to 9 months of imprisonment and 70 whippings. 18-year-old Fereshteh Nejati who was taken under custody for protesting the arrests of Razani and Kheyr Abadi, was killed on August 14th, 2008, by her own father when her throat was cut. In the wake of Nejati's slaughter, about 2000 people, both women and man, took to the streets in Marivan, demanding that an end be put to tradition and honour killings through changes to be made in legislations and also a respectable funeral to be made for Nejati.

However this human reaction was not tolerated by the actors of the stately apparatus and the protestors were dispersed using violence, a few taken under custody. Meanwhile, defender of human rights, union activist, the 33-year-old Kurdish teacher Farzad Kamanga has been put under arrest as of August 2006 and sentenced to death. The demand of Kamangar, whose health deteriorates day by day in his cell at the Racai-Sahr Prison because of poor conditions and torture, for his heart to be transplanted after the execution to a child waiting for organ transplant, which he expressed saying "The one thing I want is that my rebellious, restive heart will go on beating in the chest of a child more rebellious than me", has also been turned down.

We condemn the present Iranian government for their breaches of women's and workers' rights and human rights in general, and invite them to give up this negative attitude right away. I also demand that the unlawful arrest of Gulamriza Emani who's on hunger strike be ended, that Farzad Kamangar's death warrant be abolished, apologies be made to Sousan Razani and Shiva Kheyr Abadi and to the memory of Fereshteh Nejati.
